Castle Sammezzano

The castle was bought in 1605 by Sammezzano Ximenes Aragon and was inherited in 1816 to the Panciatichi. Ximenes Panciatichi to Ferdinand of Aragon, both as a client and architect, was responsible for the present appearance of the complex. The first evidence of the interventions conducted by Ferdinand is “neomoreschi” of 1853.
